Since 1967, DeFauw Cabinetry has been a fabricator and supplier of kitchen and bath cabinetry and counter top surfaces in the northern Greater Detroit area. Servicing primarily Macomb, St. Clair and eastern Oakland counties, we strive to offer high quality products and service at the most competitive prices. From new wood and laminate cabinetry to laminate, Granite and Quartz counter tops, DeFauw Cabinetry & Design offers custom and stock products with expert design and craftsmanship and professional installation.
Remaining a small family business, we are able to remodel entire kitchens for thousands less than everyone else in our service area with much less lead time and quick installation of the job. We also do wall removal to join the dining room with the kitchen in older homes. Refacing existing cabinetry is also one of our specialties! Following in his father’s footsteps, Dave DeFauw started DeFauw Cabinetry as a small family business in 1967 after returning home from military service in Korea. Coming from a family of master carpenters, Dave quickly built the cabinetry business offering custom cabinets, counter tops and something new to the industry—Refacing. Dave DeFauw pioneered the whole Refacing process as new materials became available to use. Until about 15 years ago, most people did not want to change the layout and footprint of the cabinetry but wanted to just change the look—without having the expense of an entire remodel. It is still a very viable option today, considering the large kitchen layouts that have been trending for the past two decades. It has become a very popular affordable option for many people and still remains a large part of our business.
We have been located at the corner of 30 Mile Rd. and Gratiot Ave. in Lenox Twp. for decades and most people recognize our building with the mural of the Belgian draft horse on the south side wall (Our family is Belgian!). Dave and Sheila, who have just celebrated 50 years of marriage, have four children that have all been involved with the business over the years but the youngest, Jeff DeFauw, took over the business after 20 years of involvement.
With a newly remodeled building, shop and showroom, DeFauw Cabinetry & Design is positioned to continue to help many homeowners and builders outfit their projects with top quality products and installation at very affordable prices, offering everything from trending styles and finishes to classic looks like Red Oak, Maple and Cherry door styles.
