To get started, we will perform a no fee consultation in your home or in our showroom to explore your basic desires and budget. During this process, it is very helpful to have:
- Approximate size of the room and “footprint” of desired kitchen layout
- Photos, Pinterest or Houzz pictures that convey the “look” you are trying to achieve
- Any specific appliance selections you have already made
Afterward, we will present you with the first proposed layout of the new kitchen or bath space along with drawings and a detailed quote for the requested materials and work to be performed. The cabinetry layout remains with us. At no cost, we will explore other desired options with pricing to better fit the evolving design/planning process.
Once you have determined that you want to continue with DeFauw Cabinetry & Design, we will fine tune the Cabinetry Plan and prepare to write the job up as a contract order with a tentative installation date. At this time, you will be provided with the cabinetry layout and elevations along with appropriate samples that you have chosen.
We will refer you to reputable contractors in other trades that you will be needing for your project including:
- Flooring—All types
- Backsplashes
- Electricians
- Plumbers
- HVAC
- Drywall and more
